January 2010 - Colorado

We have been wanting to take the kids to Colorado for a few years now. They have never tried snowboarding, so we wanted them to get on the powder. Jason moved to Leadville, Colorado right after high school. He worked at Copper Mountain and lived as a snow bum for the winter season of 1996-97. He snowboarded everyday, and enjoyed life as a teenager before having to enter "the real world of adulthood". We wanted to take the kids to Copper Mountain, and visit where "Dad" lived. We planned this trip all year, and finally it was time to enjoy a week on the mountain. The kids picked up snowboarding so fast. We snowboarded for 3 of the 6 days, and the other days we tubbed, and traveled to the surrounding cities such as Vail, Breckenridge, Leadville, and Keystone. I couldn't believe how fast the kids picked up snowboarding. They did awesome. By the 2nd day, they were going up the lift and coming down ALL ON THEIR OWN. It was amazing how good they were. This vacation is one that the kids will never forget. Every second of the vacation was FUN! And, as some know, when your on vacation with a family of 4, it's never completely smooth, but this vacation was. There was not a second of it that we would change. IT WAS THE PERFECT WEEK OF RELAXATION & FUN!!!
